I been angling since I was 11 year old and my first experience of the sport was going fishing at the now long gone Bower Pits well I say fishing it was dead lining for Rudd and Roach. After buying a fishing kit from Woolworths along with my other school chums soon after, we started fishing Bridgwater Angling Association Waters indeed I spent a great deal of my school holidays at Dunwear ponds. After my first season fishing I then took part in the junior match fishing competitions with the Bridgwater club. The days of when the juniors was run by Alan Richards and John Phipps. It was a time when fishing teach ins were held at the Bridgwater YMCA. Not only was Messrs Richards and Phipps involved but guys like Tom Rayner, Dave Holland and Dave Bryant who was a teacher at Westonzoyland shool.
More or less straight from school I done a 5 year stint in the Army, afterwards spent a year or so living near liverpool. After I return to Bridgwater in 1986 I started match fishing again with the Bridgwater club when the matches were run by a certain Kev Kennedy. 1990 saw me move to Plymouth for 3 years only to return in 1993. Soon afterwards as well as being a member of BAA I joined the Cellophane pond syndicate later to become it match secretary. A few years later saw me join the Watchet Angling club.
I was inspired to create this blog by reading other angling blogs and the encouragement of the members of the Watchet club. This blog however I want to be slightly different in content not only will it include match results of Watchet angling but articles that are associated with angling in the local area and probably further a field. Funny stories and hopefully videos, above all I want this and will strive to make this blog informative and fun.
